The Bride strides down the left hand staircase. Josh is standing inches away from the main pool, now red with blood. Around him lay dozens of corpses and many wounded men.
Josh holds two swords in his hands, both Hittoki Navo swords, the fifteenth greatest living swords crafter. Both tips trail in the blood-water.
"Greetings, warrior." says the Bride, standing on the second to last step. "I can tell you are a fighter by the way you hold your blades. Are you here for me?"
Josh bows, his mind calmed by holding such well made swords. "I am not here for you."
"Did you kill this white man?" she says, nodding at Scott. "For I did not come here to kill white men."
"I killed him." Josh's hand twitched. The Bride brought her sword up three centimeters. Between two such as them, not much more was needed.
"Why?"

  1. "I do not know."
  2. "Come with me if you want to live."
  3. Five enemy soldiers burst in from a hidden door.
  4. "Flee from me, for I am not sane."
  5. "He is Scott Chen." "Ah, Scott. Infamous among all women."
  6. "He killed my adoptive father. And wounded my master."
