It was only Astra's years of fighting fitness as a warrior that kept her
up and about as her belly grew ever bigger. Even still, she needed Velus
and Alfred's full support. The two, not the best of companions, did what
they could out of more basic human decency and concern for the kids then
anything else. Like with any group trapped on an island for so very long,
they had long ago resolved to hate each other. Even still, Alfred was allowed to examine Astra. He knew nothing of womanly problems of course, but being butler to the King he had a full course of medical training for manly problems. Because the manly King could fall in the bath or need some virillity powder when a visiting single Queen came by. Only because of sheer maternal concern did Astra allow Alfred to flex his medical mojo. Listening closely and using curved metal, Alfred got nothing. But Velus still had his doggy hearing and put it to good use. He proudly declared two heartbeats...one Astra's...one for the baby and...
