Suckers On The Vine

It's very, very hard to hear anything over the Friday night din in the extradimensional Applebees, unless one has the ears of a Dark Elf (or a Drow, to those of us who are D&D nerds).

So while what the men SAID was that their prospective sucker--err, *heroes* needed to be both brave and (ahem) intellectually challenged, what Fred and Astra actually *heard* was something entirely different.

While what they heard is still up for debate, the end result was the same--Fred, Astra and Velus wind up sitting at the table with them, eagerly volunteering. Both of the men smile at each other, as the three newcomers live up to their most earnestly wished-for expectations in very short order.

1. So what is that Our Heroes THINK they're signing up for?
2. Screw it--skip to the outfitting and the pre-mission planning, full of hilarious and wacky misunderstandings on the part of the heroes about what they're actually getting themselves into. Naturally, the two men aren't about to tell them the truth...
3. Velus is the only one who realizes they're getting themselves into horrible danger. He tries to communicate it to Fred and Astra! What happens?
