Impossibility....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 8127

"If we're not on the moon," piped up Melissa, "can we at least see where we are?" With a nod, the Doctor flicked another control, and a panel on the wall slid up to reveal...

"An exotic and stunning looking building with four identical looking raven haired women staring at them....as well as elves, dwarves and griffins in the background?!" the Master growls, glaring at the stunned looking Doctor. "Get away from the controls!"

"But...." the Doctor protests, clearly at a loss at the strange pictures on the screen.

"Well, you got to admit that I've seen better attempts at deception," Stacy mutters, rolling her eyes as the screen clicks off. The crowd is clearly growing agitated and they seem to be pointing and shouting supposedly at the TARDIS.

"Silence," the Master hisses, clearly ticked off at the infantile pranks of the Doctor. "So, you feel like playing childish games? Well, so we shall play some GAMES. It's a simple game. I do not feel like savoring the moment, since apparently our dear Doctor feels like pushing the envelope of my tolerance.....and has pushed it TO FAR!"

The last is delivered at a roar. The Master raises his strange gun in a threatening, no nonsense manner. He then smiles a small, tight smile.

Better he should have just killed these fools and taken the TARDIS under his own control! Better that, than be made to look the fool!

The Master may be many things. Witty, intelligent, and perhaps even a coward. However, he also had a enormous ego (witness the grand plans he had....the lust for power). And, alas, that ego had just been given a major blow.

"Play dead," the Master says, tired of the whole business. Gone are desires of elaborate plans of death, revenge, and inflicted suffering on his enemy. Gone is all this.

Just one pull of the trigger......

A klaxon goes off suddenly and amber lights start to flash crazily on the control pillar. The Master whips around, slack jawed and pale. The Doctor doesn't look much better. The humans know well enough that these sounds and lights mean nothing good, but the Time Lords have intimate knowledge of what it means. Every Time Lord is practically nurtured from BIRTH at what this means. It is only theoretically possible, this event...so infinitesimally possible that there are no known cases of this ever happening. However, it is, and not even the most desperate of Time Lords would DARE try to bluff this......

The TARDIS was having a lethal interaction with forces it could not cope with, and was....dying! Dying, and the passengers were running the risk of being crushed inside from collapse of it's extra-dimensional interior.

"RUN!!" the Doctor screams, shoving the Twins of Doom and Stacy through the door....and out into the crowded street outside! And they stop short in stunned silence as they look at the scene shown on the screen....in living color.

The Master makes a diving lunge out the rapidly distorting passage. He measures his height in the dirt as he slides past the stunned Doctor and the woman....only to come face to face with the glaring beak of Trilling Blackfeather, leader of the Griffin Nation.

The natives look at the people who barreled out of the legend....the fabled nightmare that fortells the downfall of a leader of a great nation. None of the Ethiopians want this, for they fear it tis their beloved Regent the fable fortells!

The group with Dr. Who looks around at the drawn swords....and revolvers (!) and gather that they aren't....exactly welcome here.

The Master has two worries. One is that there is this HUGE monster just inches away from his sweating face (fear induced....natch). Two....what in the name of the gods of the universe is his TARDIS doing here next to the the rapidly crumbling and distorting TARDIS of the Doctor?!

The Doctor is concerned about the hostile crowd around him and his friends.

He feels like someone has stabbed him in the heart as his old faithful TARDIS gives off one last wheezing cough that sounds like the last death rattle of an elephant with asthma....and then pops out of existence!

And not the least of which......he feels like protesting as the two dragons land!!

Things like that are IMPOSSIBLE!

  1. None looked particularly happy about all this.
