Stacy Gets a Shock

"I had to go down to Socorro in New Mexico," she said. "My lab assistant for my original tests on animals lives there, and she was in a bad accident. Anyway, in the hurry I left all my notes behind, and now I find I'm in need of some of the information that was in them. I wondered if you would mind giving me a few details from your own notes?"

Then the reporter dropped his bombshell. "There's something more important than that which I must tell you first. The reason I remembered your name is that for the last twentyfour hours I've been trying to trace you, Stacy. In the last week, two men have been admitted to New York hospitals suffering from amnesia. In each case, the men's wives said that they had been subjects in your trials...

1. "So, are you going to give me the full story, Stacy? That way the piece I write might be less damning than it would otherwise be."
2. "Both wives are talking about suing you for evey penny you've got."
3. "It gets worse, I'm afraid. One of the men seems to be going blind."
4. "So, how's YOUR memory, Stacy? I'm guessing as to why you might have wanted to pump me for information on your own work."
