"Look," said Stacy, "frankly your story still sounds pretty implausible,
and I'm not prepared
to hand over my notes based on what I've heard. What I will do,
though, is go
back to my office and read through them. If they corroborate that the
government really is
behind the amnesia, then I'll meet you back here in two hours time and
bring you the notes. If
not, then you've seen
the last of me. Deal?"
The man looked unhappy - or rather that part of his face visible around his sunglasses did. "It could be very dangerous," he said. "The interviewer, or another of their people, could turn up in your office at any time to look for those notes. There's safety in numbers. Let me come with you. You can get me in on a visitor's pass."
