"Be my guest," said the Doctor, opening the door. The Master ran off
across the desert,
presumably towards his own TARDIS. "Are you just going to let him get
away?" the
red-haired Betty asked indignantly. "I've no time to worry about him,"
replied the
Doctor, "although I have set him a small problem to solve. We've
got to shut
down the VLA, and quickly. Come on!" And he led the others in a charge
towards the control room.
Meanwhile the Master had reached his TARDIS, and was getting increasingly panicky, for his TARDIS seemed mysteriously to have developed the same fault as the Doctor's. Eventually he would discover the small jamming device that the Doctor had slipped into his pocket as he had dashed out of the Docrtor's TARDIS. Having previously jammed the Doctor's TARDIS's dematerialization circuit, it was now doing the same thing for the corresponding circuit of his own TARDIS. With the Master for the moment pre-occupied, the Doctor and the four women ran towards the control room.
