Here Come the Bastards

"Um, Jasper? You don't work here, buddy. You don't need to clean up any of the messes!" Sara says, as her cousin gets to work sweeping away the debris covering the floor.
"If I'm not mistaken, Sara, we have ourselves a trap door down here! Maybe it's our ticket out of here."

Suddenly intrigued, Sara hops over the counter. "Need help?" she asks.
"If only you know how to open this thing," muses Jasper. "I can't seem to find a switch anywhere back here, and I don't really want to just stomp on this thing until it breaks open, y'know?"

Jasper is now kneeling on the trap door looking towards the back wall, where dusty displays of cigarettes, hard liquor, condoms, and ancient lottery tickets (among other high theft items) sit. Sara spies a peculiar looking red button directly below the cash register, with a sign next to it saying DO NOT PUSH UNTIL YOUR SHIFT IS OVER.

"Hey, Jasper, I think this is it!" Sara says, crouching down and quickly pushing the button.
"Really? Where was-AAAARRRGGGHHH!!" Jasper screams as the door opens underneath him, and he quickly drops out of sight.
"Omigod, Jasper! I am so sorry!" Sara says, standing up, and realizing exactly what she's done. "Jasper? Jasper!"

No response. It appears that Sara's going to have to drop down to find her cousin. She seems reluctant. "Oh god, I'm gonna get my new jeans and sneakers all nasty down there, aren't I? Well, here goes nothing!"

Sara jumps down. Where exactly does this trap door lead to?

1. The basement of the store, which is shockingly immaculate and spotless, as opposed to the store above it.
2. The staircase room. Scott and Josh sit quietly, too engrossed in television.
3. A long, long chute that spills both Sara and Jasper into an underground lake.
4. Cleveland.
