Dennis Miller

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 77987

Yes...yes he is. Seriously. His schtick stopped being funny funny years ago, and became sort of tedious. This is, however, my opinion. I could be wrong, and likely am. I believe that his hair may have been behind the grassy knoll.

For no reason save that I want to share this, a recipe:

Take one cut up fryer, or whatever form you happen to like your chicken in. Season it, flour it, and fry it off to brown it. You may cook it completely if you like. Then take it up and drain it on newspapers or paper towels. Skin and slice some large potatoes, and layer them in a crock pot with onions, garlic and whatever else turns you on.

Place your fried chicken (yes, you can use leftover fried chicken if you happen to have it on hand; adjust your liquids accordingly as the breading will soak up some of it) on top of the potatoes, and add in one can of mushroom soup. Cream of chicken would likely work as well as mushroom soup. Add more of whatever seasonings you crave, and half a can or so of water. You could probably use milk if you wish.

Cover and cook on high heat for about an hour and a half, and then lower heat and simmer for another hour or so, or until the chicken is so tender it's falling off the bone. The gravy should be extremely thick.

Serve the chicken and potatoes with fresh bread and whatever veggies you wish. Breaded, fried summer squash and fresh tomatoes are perfect for it. This recipe can also be done with pork chops or veal instead of chicken. This was my supper this evening, it's easy and simple to make and I can assure anyone reading this that it tastes exquisite.
