There, in a large cavern on a great heap of treasure, slept the dragon.
Twin trails of smoke rose from it's nostrils into the darkness above. "Finally my quest is at end!" Fred whispered, "I shall return to Allaria as a full-fledged dragonslayer at last!" "I am sorry but I intend to slay the dragon myself," Astra said. "But it is my sword you hold," Fred said. "Surely you would give me the honour of severing its head!" "No. It is my destiny to kill this drake," Astra said grimly. She took a firm hold of the sword and strode purposefully towards the dragon. Gold coins rattled as she claimed the pile of treasure, but she managed to stay quite enough not to wake the dragon. When she reached the head of the beast she raised the sword and let it fall with a mighty swing on its neck.
