Advantage Fred?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 7711

Fred thought he had one advantage. For when they had first appeared in the arena, the Dragon had looked left and then right to check the ceiling for any stalactmites (or stalctites, whichever one ceilings had).
The dragon had never -been- in this cavern before. So if he hadn't, maybe he hadn't seen that this cavern had the typical Allarian beauty-trick of hiding drains with minor illusion spells. And on the floor, near a wall with centaur spectators was a Drain of Wideness, with the typical 'three stones in a pattern' that all Allarians knew of as 'big wide hole'.
Fred backed up ooooh so carefully.

  1. The dragon went 'WHOOP!' and tripped. That's what you get for flying half the time, no knowldege of otherwise unsightly holes of drainage. Fred leapt, hands ready to choke.
  2. The dragon side-stepped the hole and waved one clawed finger. "Clever." he said. "Truthfully, I don't know why the hole is Illusioned but I did smell the muck."
  3. In concentrating on the hole, Fred did not notice the six stone illusion indicating rusty grating. He fell straight through and plunged thirty feet into deep, deep water.
