Jing steps forward. He didn't know Mali and Steph personally but he did
recall seeing them on the news plenty of times. Two years ago, when a
rival mob tried to hit the Old Man, Steph had taken three bullets to
protect several kids who weren't even part of the Underground. And six
months ago Mali had burnt all his fur and much of his skin off closing off
a magic spell endangering a taxi cab company full of employees and
customers. Fortunately, morphs heal fast. Several hours later, as the five sit in a mini-van tooling down Highway Twelve, they decide which retired councilman to visit first. The two closest were Andre and Ignatius, both hardline Old Man supporters. But Andre was paranoid and Ignatius sometimes had to be bribed to be competent, despite the well-reknowned leadership skills of the Old Man.
