Jing looked so confused. "Look." said Mali, the muscly wolf-man. "We were
there. We saw Old Man Jim's illegitimate son Jimmy Two-Tones disintegrate
his two co-conspirators and sit in the Throne of Power." "Which proves he is Jim's son! Rulership of the Supernatural Underground has been passed down from father to son for hundreds of years." "And the only magic power that overwhelms THAT is the Council Vote. If we can get those five retired council members to toss their vote back in, I'm pretty sure it'd be enough to have Regina installed as ruler." Jing liked Regina. She was an advisor who was as nice to the Animal-Forms as Old Man Jim. She also advised non-violent ways as much as possible, again, like Jim. But Two-Tones was the son...the Throne said so! And was he really so bad? All Jing had to go on was four Court Morphs, who themselves said that like a bazillion people were going to be joining them on the cross-country trips to get the votes. But four. Mali, who was always half wolf. Steph, a bulky bat-cat-dog thing, looked mostly human except for the ears and the fur. Could fly. And Teddy, a bear morph, on the roof and Winders, a canine morph that could turn human perched in the speedboat outside. Was Jing supposed to entrust himself and the fate of the entire Mafia Underground to four Advisors he barely knew simply because he found a Portal out of the city still opened and stepped through as part of the Neighberhood Portal Watch? The Old Man HAD passed away recently and there were hundreds of rumours floating around. What if these four animal-folk were simply providing loyalty tests? That would be scary as hell by itself, the Old Man earned his loyalty...he had even once greeted Jing by name during an inspection tour once five years ago. But still...the possibillities. Jing himself was just a plain-jane human who worked in the Sciences Division for the front company Az-Tolla-Mor. Why test his loyalty? What happens now?
