Stacy decided to try and reason with the man. "Oh, come on! Surely that's
not necessary. You've already got as much control over me as you could
possibly want. And, besides, why should I be particularly inclined to care
about a sister I don't even remember having?" Hooker seemed to consider that for a moment. Stacy took that as a helpful sign, and pressed on. "Besides, you wouldn't want me to have any contact with my sister, surely? Seeing her would probably bring back more memories that seeing you did! And if you don't let me see her, I'm never going to believe that you have her." Hooker's face lit up. "My goodness! You really are incredibly intelligent, aren't you? And not just with physics! I am so happy to be working with you!" Amazingly enough, he actually seemed sincere. Stacy waited a moment to see what he would do next.
