How Did Reaibn Get Here Anyway?

Of course Astra is a bit handicapped in the tailwagging department by the lack of a tail, but she and Velus nevertheless discover that they can communicate fairly well. Fortunately Reaibn has by now subsided into gentle sobbing, so that they are able to hear one another.

Astra apologises for calling Velus a mangy mutt; she had not at first realised that he is actually a transformed boy. In view of this, Velus barks so as to indicate that he will refrain from pissing on her feet.

"If only I could get through to Reaibn, perhaps he could release me," Astra says. "I wonder how he came here; it would involve a journey of many days."

"Moring Bore! Moring Bore!" Reaibn bursts out once more on hearing Astra mention his name.

  1. Unfortunately Astra and Velus do not realise that a Moring Bore is a type of magic portal, in this case one leading from Reaibn's wine cellar to the dragon's caves.
  2. Velus wonders whether his pissing on Reaibn's feet might act as shock therapy.
  3. Evidently realising that it is out of place, Astra's simple black dress [70119] shimmers and then vanishes.
