Haggling

As the son of a duke Fred had never needed to haggle before, but offered the merchant half the price of what he wanted for the sword.

-What?! Surely you must be joking! This is a sword worthy of a king! 90 gold pieces, no less.

Now that Fred had got the price lowered he was about to accept, but Astra broke in.

-Don't let this she-dogs offspring trick you Fred! That sword is worth no more than 45 gold pieces!

The merchant made an indignant coughing sound.
-45? Oh what cruel hoodlums you must be to try and skin me alive. 80!

-Ha! You dare call us hoodlums and name such a outrageous price?

Some insults later Astra had got the price down to 60 gold pieces.
-You is quite a barterer. Fred said admiringly as Astra gave him the sword.
