she would not still be alive. But in that case, why was she crying?
Fred was so ashamed of his conduct, that he was tempted to remain in hiding, but in the end he came out from the crevice. By now, Astra had walked a little further on, so he called after her: "Princess!" Astra turned and saw him. "So there you are," she said, between sobs. "The dragon is dead, but so is Velus. I could never have killed the beast had not he bravely distracted it so that I could get a blow in with the sword, but in doing so he got caught by its fiery breath.
