The following half an hour seemed to last forever to Astra, but at last she saw Fred returning.

3. Alone. "I found him. He said that there are magical wards that were placed on the catacombs long ago, to prevent mages from entering. That's why he needs us. But he gave me a magical gadget that he reckons should get you free."
