Madness!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 73532

After all, what other conclusion could Astra-chan come to, given the ninja's apparent rapid changes of mood, from alarm to fear and finally to amusement. He surely must be deranged and his outlandish story a delusion.

But responding with a word which meant "madness" was perhaps not very tactful, especially by Japanese standards. For a moment she thought that the ninja was going to fly into a rage, perhaps even attack her with his dagger. (Though since she was unarmed that would have been an extreme breach of etiquette.) But then he seemed to relax, and he grinned at her. "Aita nu," he said.

That meant "see for yourself". Astra-chan's attention had been fixed on the ninja, but now as she looked around she saw that the mist was rapidly thinning and the surrounding area was becoming visible.

  1. They were in a gigantic bathtub. Not far away a rubber duck, larger than their boat, was floating.
  2. Their boat was floating in what appeared to be a huge glass tank. An equally huge human face was pressed up against one wall of the tank, watching them.
  3. They were surrounded on all sides by enormous mirrors like those found in a carnival, showing dozens of distorted reflections of themselves and their boat. It was very disorientating.
  4. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
