"How much is your receipt for?" the cashier asked. "Three dollars and
forty-one cents."
"Then I don't hold out much hope. Most people pay cash for an amount that
small." Stacy
had a sinking feeling, especially as she recalled that in her bag she had
neither a
credit card nor a check book, only an ATM card.
But then the cashier cried "Eureka!", and waved a check for $3.41 at her. Although her signature was an indecipherable scrawl, printed on the check was her name: Stacy Jones.
