A Mysterious Man

The man stepped out of the escape pod. He seemed normal - or at least normal by the weird standards of this place. The man was about 50 years old, with a slightly wrinkled face. His hair was short, black, and curly, with flecks of grey. His hands were hard, and his joints were slightly swollen. However, he was able to handle two pieces of luggage easily. One was an oversized red trunk with brass molding protecting its edges, which was about two thirds of the size of the man. The other was a black attache case that could only be opened by a numerical combination.

He wore some kind of simple uniform. There were no identifying insignia that anyone could recognize, but there were several pockets. The man took a flat piece of metal that was smaller than his hand from one of his pockets, and unfolded it, doubling its length. He jabbed at it a few times with one finger. He seemed satisfied with the result.

1. Fred asked, "Who are you?"
2. The man asked, "Who are you?"
