Astra is Pun-ished

Astra wanted to go home, but she did not know where 'home' was, or how to get there. If she had watched the movie, she would have known to head south and search for a lady that looked like Billie Burke. But Astra had neither seen the movie nor read the book.

But she did know that the kingdoms to the East and West were dangerous. So she had a choice between North and South. She decided to take Fred go South.

On the way, she met the Calloway, the Titanium Man. He had been lying in a rough patch of grass, next to a ruined building that was whole on three sides, but had gaps in one of the walls. Astra helped him stand upright. He was thankful, and wanted to help her out. He told her about the Eccentric Author of the South.

"Oh, no, not another one," thought Astra.

Astra said, "Was he the one that destroyed that building?"

Calloway said, "Not him alone. All the authors here breach the fourth wall from time to time."

Astra groaned. "That is a bad pun."

Calloway answered, "Have you ever heard of a good pun?"

Astra thought about that, and shook her head.

Calloway responded, "That is the peculiarity of the Eccentric Author of the South. He just cannot help making bad puns. But you can use it to your advantage. Think of a bad enough pun, and you may be able to use it to get what you want."

Astra said, "I would like to go home. But I cannot think of anything that is a pun on Aqualaria or home."

But Fred was thinking. And Astra suddenly noticed that

1. they were nearing a river, which was useful, because a river has two banks.
