Casting a Spell

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 722

Fred had to do most of the searching for obvious reasons. It was a little unusual to have a completely alphabetical order rather than a grouping by subject, but by looking under "S" he soon found "Spellcasting Made Easy." He soon discovered a growth spell in the book's index. The spell was a bit vague as to just how much growth would occur, so he hoped for the best. He set Astra down on the floor and began to say the magic incantation.

  1. Success! Astra returns to very close to her original size.
  2. Partial success. Astra grows to about three feet tall. She and Fred wonder if repeating the spell would result in further growth.
  3. Nothing whatsoever happens. Perhaps Fred lacks the necessary innate talent for magic.
  4. Fred sneezes halfway through the spell (libraries tend to be dusty places), with disconcerting results.
