Belboz knew that restoring the knight to his previous form was impossible
- he'd taken no readings and had no imprint of his aura and no control
spells had been laid down to retain any of his knowledge or memories. The
thing on the floor was alive only in the strictest sense of the word, and
was barely aware of it own existence, much less its previous life. No, Sir Fred was gone for good, and Belboz wouldn't miss a meddler like him, that was for sure. Still, it's not fair to simply leave this poor confused blob in this state, he mused. I ought to make someone uselful out of it. So Belboz pulled out a few tomes, searching for someone useful he could make out of the former Fred. After a few hours, the magician found just the thing. He lit a few candles and began reciting a few arcane rhymes. Slowly, the blob began to take shape. As it resolidified, a new personality and set of memories began to grow.
