Fred's girlfriend, Alice, rolled a nine on a pair of dice. Fred gloated, "Ventnor Avenue. Time to pay up!" Alice shrugged, and said, "How much?" "Eight hundred dollars." Alice counted out eight light brown bills and handed them to Fred. It was now Velus's turn, but before he rolled the dice, he looked at Alice, and said, "This is the third time that you have landed on the yellow group. And I know that you have not developed your properties, so you can't have gotten that much coming in. You should be bankrupt by now." Velus's girlfriend, Amelia, who was acting as banker, looked through the bank's stock of bills, and said, "Hey, all the hundreds are missing!" Three pairs of eyes turned to Alice.
