"We'd be ever so grateful if you didn't tell your boss that you'd found us here," Astra said, with a dazzling smile that was guaranteed to turn any man weak at the knees.

"After all, what good would arresting two sweet, innocent girls like us do?" Freda put in. "The place has already been closed down, after all. We promise to leave just as soon as we can."

"But the chief constable sent me in to search the place thoroughly, just in case anyone had somehow managed to evade our men when we carried out our raid a couple of hours ago. I really ought to bring the pair of you in."

"Let's not discuss it out here in this draughty hallway," Astra said, taking his arm in hers. "We could be so much more comfortable if we went into one of the rooms and snuggled up on a nice comfy couch."

"What a good idea," Freda said, putting an arm around the man's waist and leaning her head on his shoulder.

The constable gulped. Though the other bawdy house girls had been pretty enough, none of them were a patch on this pair when it came to sheer sexual allure.

1. He allowed himself to be taken into one of the rooms opening off the hall.
2. With a superhuman effort, he tore himself free and said: "You are both under arrest. I must insist that you come with me."
