The Unexpected Arrival

Freda nodded and turned to follow. Just as they stepped into the back hallway, though, they heard a noise from the foyer. Puzzled, the two of them turned and headed back.

When they arrived, they were startled to find a fairly handsome man standing in the hallway. He was dressed neatly, clutching a scroll in one hand and looking about curiously.

Upon seeing the identical pair, he looked startled. "Oh," he said, "I - that is, I thought the place was deserted."

"Well, obviously not, good sir," Freda replied with a dazzling smile. "I mean, you're here, and we're here, and now we're all here, aren't we?"

"Well - well, yes, I suppose that's true."

"It sure is," Astra purred, sliding up to close to the man, with Freda following suit. "But tell us - how did you get in? And where are all the other girls?"

"How did I get in?" he asked.

1. "I just walked in. And I really don't know where anyone else is. So - are the two of you available for, um, for hire?"
2. "My boss, the chief constable let me in - this house has been seized and all the girls in it have been arrested - as if you didn't know!"
3. "Ever since Their Majesties Queen Helia and Princess Astra vanished, all Bawdy Houses in Aqualaria have been shut down by order of Majestrix Pro Tem, Countess Felice!"
4. "My Uncle Vincent sent me to make sure you arrived OK. Here, this scroll will explain everything."
5. "Why don't I show you?" he asked, and suddenly the three of them vanished.
