Apparently the man had had no objection to her seeing where they were going, so she knew from the road signs that they were not far from Princeton. The office building looked impressive, but Stacy noticed that it had no identifying sign on it. The man hustled Stacy inside. Two security guards appeared, and escorted Stacy and her companion into a well-furnished office.

Sitting behind the desk was a corpulent middle-aged man in a gray suit. "Welcome to our research facility, Dr Jones," he said, with the slightest hint of a foreign accent that she couldn't quite place. "I'm so glad you decided to co-operate.
