to have done, having heard the increasingly weird tales that came from
there. But I delayed too long and missed my chance. As I'm sure you know,
for about five years now nobody who has entered Allaria has ever returned.
Now, of course, no-one dares to go there any more. Not even me who, as you
will no doubt realise, am as brave as a lion." This last was said with a
smile on his face.
"I'm sure you are," Astra answered, smiling herself at his self- mockery. A possible reason for Sabok's recent sudden wariness had occurred to her Could he fear that she might be an informer for the Hespan secret police?
