The Never Ending Quest - Episode 6954

Fred was now in the Mall of America basement. It seemed to be an endless concrete labyrinth.

How he got here was a simple misunderstanding: there had been some kind of incident on the ground floor involving a hostage situation in one of the largest stores. Fred was frightened by the crowds of people who were suddenly rushing away from the store, so he ducked into a service hallway between two clothing stores. The hallway led him through a few more doors, then a noisy metallic staircase. Fred didn't care where he was going just so long as he was undetected by anyone else.

After all, he was in the Mall of America because he believed the dragon was inside it somewhere, and it was his destiny to slay it.

As Fred slowly wandered through the corridors, he kept hearing noises. These noises did not sound like they originated from any living being, so Fred reasoned that if there was something down here, it was keeping silent. Fred also vowed not to open any of the doors he had encountered along the way, not wanting to become any more lost than he felt now. Instead, he was marking out the route he was taking by drawing on the wall with the black Sharpie market he had found discarded upstairs before the sudden crisis prompted him to hide.

Keep going...there's something hidden down here.

  1. Hours later, Fred is exhausted, having walked through all the halls without finding a thing.
  2. Fred encounters the dragon.
  3. Fred runs across the Minotaur.
  4. Fred is confronted by two of the criminals responsible for the hostage situation upstairs. They had also hidden down here to avoid detection from the police and FBI.
  5. Fred is eventually lost forever in the Mall of America basement.
  6. Fred finds Scott and Josh at the center of the maze.
