A creature driven...

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 69133

"All right, then. I don't greatly care either way," Gilda finally says, giving into her sister's wishes. "The girl it shall be."

So it came to pass that the merchant who called himself Barnabas found himself in a much . . . .goater frame of mind and body when he awakens.

The satyr, remembering little to nothing of it's former life, revels in finding not only females nearby to pester, but BIG and beautiful ones at that. Quiet trying on the nerves are it's advances the giants find and are MORE than happy that Barnabas (or whatever he'll eventually call himself) is driven away by the dragon's magicks. Short of hurting or killing the creature it appeared that nothing was going to halt it's randy advances.

It had ignored the pile of money (it's payment for delivery) entirely throughout the debacle there.

With nary a effort, the running satyr is magically deposited outside somewhere far away and that's that for Barnabas.

What is of MORE concern is the young woman that the giantesses had chosen over the now transformed Barnabas.

The elfin woman before them was dressed a most primitive fashion (leathern outfit of fur and feather laden fetishes, shamantic in design) and had a wild air to her. The long, flowing mane of hair the elf had gave off a air of savagery that was . . . appealing in one way but also offputting in another.

As for the mind inside the sleeping body? Well, the human psyche within is waging a losing battle with the elfin urges of this body. More and more of her mind and soul is being transformed into something . . .other than human. Something elfin. Wild.

Struggle though Belinda does, she's losing. Indeed, her very self image is shifting and changing as the giantesses watch, unaware.

Belinda's image of self shifts and changes, becoming more and more alien as she struggles against it. Fine Aqualarian silks and weapons befitting her station change. Shifting and shrinking, human ears grow sharp pointed. Finely forged steel weapons are replaced with hand carved stone knives and spear. Silk becomes leather.

You get the idea. She's becoming not only an elf, but an elfin savage! A wood elf to be exact. Transformed, the woman knows a new name must be given her because she's . . . no longer human (and has no desire to be such). But . . . something in her elfin heart says something is wrong. Her mind is somewhat cloudy from her ordeals but . . .she does realize something had happened to her. Something terrible.

Where is her mate?

Where are her cubs?!

It then suddenly hit her. What had happened. The only thing that could have happened. What the dragon had gloated about while she'd screamed and screamed and screamed as changes coursed through her.

What that . . . monster had done to her and her loved ones. Her mate was dead and the dragon female had stolen her cubs!!

Giving into a wild impulse, she suddenly stands and stares at the full moon above her. A moon that only her new elfin senses can see, what with everyone still being in the dragon's cavern and all that.

  1. Ignoring the goggled eyed surprise of her hosts, she lifts her head back and gives off a mournful wolf howl of despair.
