Fred suddenly felt a chill, as if someone was staring at him. The woman who looked like a rabbit looked very nervous as she noticed a third party had just approached what had been an intimate engagement for two.

There stood a man wearing a light brown trenchcoat, black pants and shoes, and a dark fedora. He produced a badge from his pocket and showed it to Fred and his new lady friend.

"You're a story cop?" asks Fred.
"To be precise, I'm the latest honorary story cop," says the cop. "Name's Peter Bogdanovich. Now, I've been informed that the lady here has just referenced one of the films I made a long time ago. Maybe you've seen it, sir? Have you ever seen What's Up, Doc?, sir? It's clear that your girlfriend has..."

  2. "I enjoyed The Last Picture Show better," the woman answers.
