"Yes, humans. They outnumber dragonkind a thousand-fold, perhaps by even more."

Ryujin had an expression was an odd combination of anger and confusion. "Why, Minestus?" He asked, softly, "Why do you care for this world so much? After the war, when all the remaining pure red dragons had moved on to other worlds, you were the only one who chose to stay behind. Why is this world so important to you? So important that you want to rule it? So important that you would stay even if it meant deserting all of your friends and family?"

"You know, Ryujin, don't you?" I replied, "Humans are a fascinating race."

"Ha! I bet you wish you were one, don't you, Minestus?" He joked.

"Yes." I admitted, with a pang of sadness.

"Leave, Minestus. The dragons would never unite under a human-loving red dragon such as you. They would sooner die." Ryujin impatiently threatened.

  1. I challenged Minestus in a fight to death for the crown.
  2. He was right. Ownership of the human lands was quite enough... for now.
  3. I decided that if I couldn't have the dragon lands, no-one could, and when I returned to the human lands I rallied the armies to attack the Dragon Lands.
  4. I argued further.
