"All right. I've been getting rather bored lately. I miss the good old days of adventuring." Astra told me, which was quite surprising indeed. "...", I smiled and nodded. "You made the right decision. Tell your messenger to send a message out to the people that there is a new leader. I do not need any ceremony. My leadership is effective immediately." "But... who do I say our new leader is? Do I just call you 'The Dragon'?" "No. You call me Minestus. Minestus, the great red dragon!" She looked around in her bedroom, sighing. "May I- May I still live here... when I'm not out doing quests, of course?" "I suppose. I do not sleep.", I explained, turning to the window and the balcony. "But now I have other errands to attend to. I will be back." and with that, I flew out into the cold winter sky. But I did not only wish to become ruler for power. There was another reason; I have described both Fred and Astra as having been rulers of the world, but that was not so much the case. They were rulers of the human world; but humans mostly stayed together along the one continent, so the rest of the world is unaffected. So perhaps a better term would be rulers of the continent. I apologize for any confusion this has caused. Anyway, so Astra was only the ruler of this continent, but all other continents were completely unaffected. I however, wanted to change all this. I wanted a world where all sapient creatures could live together in harmony, with no wars or feuds, all under my rule. And that was the reason I was flying towards my homeland of the dragons. I am the last pure great-red dragon; other dragons had begun to mingle with the other types, mostly black dragons. But the mixed type dragons did not retain the red dragon's immortality; so as such, I am the last immortal dragon. That is, if I am immortal. I planned to meet with the leader of the black dragons; Ryujin. It took me three days to fly to the capital of the dragon's continent. I had not been to my homeland in years, but I remembered where everything was, so I was able to fly straight into the leader's cave without meeting everyone else. Of course, I was greeted by some guards. Although black dragons are not immortal, they do have an extremely long lifespan, I recognized one of the guards. "What are you doing here?" asked Tatsu, an old friend/rival.
The other two guards had just stood there not saying a word until now. "You may pass." One of them said, and Tatsu and the other guy were taken aback. "Why are you letting him pass?" Tatsu asked him. "Because he has hope in his eyes. Like he is on a mission to do something he wants to achieve, and he plans to let nothing stand in his way. Such a determined person deserves to achieve their goals." The other guard said. I looked at him and nodded, and continued through the cave until I found Ryujin; not that he was hard to miss. He was probably the only dragon that was larger than me, and he sat in the middle of his caves, basking in his own glory. When he looked at someone, they could feel his bright-red eyes examining their every movement. "Minestus." He said immediately. "Ryujin." I said, bowing in respect. "I have become the leader of the human kingdoms." "Continue." "I would like to extend my kingdom to be more than just the humans." "I said continue." "Well, that is to say... I think dragons and the humanoids could live together in harmony. I think that they could live until the same rule-- and... well, I could be the leader of both.", I did not want to offend him, so I continued, "You of course, would keep your position, just under a new name. You would be chief of... dragon affairs, and you would still look over the dragons specifically. I would just be, well, overseeing everything else." "Are you suggesting that the dragons migrate to the human's land?" "Umm. Well... I think that humans, dragons, and other creatures would all live across the different lands."
