Reflecting on those traveling abroad

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 68414

A few moments later, after getting the latest "sitrep" from "the girls", both Elrondir and Sigin look at each other in slight consternation.

"Well, it appears that they had a VERY interesting close encounter or set of encounters over there," Sigin deadpanned.

"Indeed," Elrondir agreed, in an equally droll voice, doing a credible impersonation of a certain dark skinned person with a golden symbol on his forehead back at a place called "Stargate Activity" (a dimensionally displaced Jaffa team member of a small combat grouping called SG-1). Long story there, for later.

. . .

Actually, Teal’c was a rather good friend of the family and Elrondir himself had come to rather admire the stoic former Jaffa.

That is besides the point, however,

”Let’s see,” Elrondir continued in that same droll voice. “Rei, Reika, and Lilith are traveling with a woman who’s analogs either—in Lilith’s and Rei’s case—went ‘stethoscope happy’ with them and also—for Lilith—slept with their husband. And then the less said about a green eyed, pale skinned human/alien hybrid male who’d actually planned on rescuing Reika from her situation but would have left the rest of Tokyo 3 to rot in a radioactive grave, the better!”

As for the second, Elrondir’s head was still spinning from that rough and tumble negotiation his group and the G-Man had to go through to finally settle upon this forward party’s composition. Machiavellian didn’t even BEGIN to describe the man when measured by NORMAL human standards.

Then again, the G-Man was hardly “normal” and really was not and never really had BEEN human. He just looked it.

As for the former, Dr. Ritsuko Akagi had already been cleared of . . . most wrongdoings in the Champion’s books by the local authorities. That or her remaining crimes had been pretty much been taken care of in the way of “plea bargaining” to such an extent (and to their satisfaction) that she’d made (or would soon BE making) her repayment to society.

. . .

That thing with her trying to actually strangle the native Yui Akari? Well, Yui hadn’t pressed charges and Ritsuko . . . had and still showed signs of being near the ragged edge of a nervous breakdown, so . . .errors in judgment and all that and . . .

Oh, let’s not beat around the bush. The Champion’s felt sorry for her after being utterly humiliated by everything that has come out about the affair she’d had with Gendo Akari (native)! Even YUI AKARI felt sorry enough to not press charges on the wretched woman after she heard just how badly Ritsuko had been used. Her and her mother before her…

Anything else that might have been held against her had pretty much been taken care of by extenuating circumstance (Gendo had REALLY done a number on her in his manipulations) or pretty much annulled by the fact that Reika didn’t hold a grudge (so the others couldn’t/wouldn’t as well).

the thing here is that Dr. Akagi must have been rather uncomfortable with the idea of traveling with women who either might: A) associate her with the analog who’d attempted to strangle them, or B) had been the "other woman".

Strange how . . . things change, Elrondir sighed, reflecting how standoffish he'd been before . . . growing sympathatic to Dr. Akagi's plight. But I still feel that this "last chance" we've given her, working together with the girls is the best way to make sureabout the good doctor.

How Ritsuko Akagi interacted with the othes would be telling. It would play into whether or those he called mother and father would actually hire the good doctor into the household or not. Elrondir had done his part in making his case for Ritsuko Akagi. What kind of report the girls give the family elder would determine whether or not the good doctor got a job with his clan back upon Terra Prime OR would be relegated to some shady "gene splicing" business that seemed to have popped up all over this world due to the Chaos events..

There were miles to go yet in convincing Probe and Evis 7 of Dr. Naoko Akagi's good character. Soon after Rei came into everyone's life back on Terra Prime it soon became public knowledge what had happened between her and her reality's version of Naoko.

Hope they don't grill her too badly at the job interview session, the elfin male thought to himself. She's still rather upset with that spectacular breakup she had with Gendo and . . .

His train of thought (though having gone off on a tangent) is interrupted by the arrival of a somewhat frustrated looking set of generals of the JSSDF. Having felt they'd been slighted and stonewalled left and right here by the people around them. Felt that they'd been told fairy tales up until now (despite the fact that some figure FROM fairy tales were running about on NERV grounds) they finally decided to demand answers from none other than those who seemed to be in the center of this bizarre case.

"Mr. Elrondir & Mr. Sigin, we'd like to have words with you about . . . ," one of them begins, only to stop in his tracks (with the rest of his group) when a pearly white light signs down from behind them.

"Yes, do by all means talk about recent events," the angel known as Astra smiles reassuringly at them and then at a VERY befuddled young woman who calls herself Kaworu Nagisa.

  1. "Some here need to be brought up to speed on certain things and I feel that you are most suited for the task!"
