After Astra had killed Josh three or four times, only for him to somehow rise from the dead each time, she began to realise that it was a waste of time. Besides, he did seem to be beginning to take the hint, and was quite a lot less disgusting than he had been originally.

Meanwhile, she had begun to complain about the high temperature in the Staircase Room - yes, she was a hot babe. Strangely, the heat did not seem to bother Lots and Josh, even though they wore clothes and she was nude.

  1. One of them had secretly turned up the thermostat to 105F, so that even if Astra should happen to find any clothes she wouldn't want to wear them.
  2. Astra felt hot because she had contracted a fever.
  3. Astra felt hot because she had suddenly grown thick fur. (Weird things tended to happen in the Staircase Room for no clear reason.)
