The shock of almost drowning caused Astra to remember that what they were
seeing was a magical filtration system. It took all sorts of water,
whooshed it around, sent it down the tube and whatever system was at the
bottom collected fresh sparkling water. It was obviously meant for the
dragon's soldiers who couldn't live on alligator urine and cow snot. (A
surprisingly large amount of sentients could. The price for cow snot was
insane). The filter, while cleaning filth, also kept out things large then a pebble, so Astra knew Josh would not be sucked away as she tried to drown him. So she tried to drown him. Josh kicked and fought while getting cleaner and cleaner. Untold layers of filth and grodiness and cow snot sloughed off and was magically destroyed. Ultimately, Astra's good nature let him up. "My hair!" Josh screamed. "It's so shiny and nice!" Princess Genua of Genua shoved him. "That's because it's clean, moron." "Cleaaan." breathed Josh. "I like. I like."
