"No, you're probably right," Stacy replied. "So why don't you come
over?" "Er, I'd prefer
it if you came round here," Stacy said. That way, she wouldn't have to
admit that she had
no idea how to find Paula's place. "OK," Paula responded. "I'll be with
you in twenty minutes.
I've been wanting to talk to you about this ever since I sent you the
letter, especially
to find out just where you got the sample, but you didn't
phone me as I'd asked. Be with you shortly." As she put the phone down,
Stacy
reflected that Paula's tone had sounded rather reproachful. She wondered
why she hadn't
phoned her as requested. And what was she going to tell her when she
arrived? With her amnesia,
she couldn't give her any additional details.
While she was waiting for Paula, she thought that she might as well resume searching the filing cabinet.
