"Well, Ba-a-arnabas, we'd better get moving," Hilda says. For a moment the merchant thinks that she is mocking him, but then he realises that the Frost Giants have little experience of human names and have taken what he said - or rather bleated - at face value.

The strange party of four - two Frost Giants, one gryphon, and one who is now roughly 90% human and 10% goat - sets off on the short journey to the mage's mansion. As the girls had found previously, there is no difficulty in getting in; they hope that getting out will prove as straightforward.

1. They find the artifact easily enough.
2. Ironically, the dragoness's intelligence was faulty and all their efforts have been for nothing; the artifact is not there!
