A New Quest

"There's a rock-shelf above the water level just over there," one of the tiny men said, pointing. "We put your swords on it. We didn't want to risk them getting rusty."

"Very thoughtful of you," Ardua said. "You wouldn't have any clothes that we could wear, by any chance?"

"I'm afraid that we have no way of clothing giantesses such as yourselves," the spokesman said. "Not even with magic. You're just too enormous. You may be able to obtain something to wear on the far side of the portal. Or then again, you may not. We cannot tell."

"We'd better not waste any more time," Astra said. "Show us to this portal."

1. "Follow us." The boats began to move. Astra and Ardua waded after them through water that was now about waist deep.
2. "Better than that, we can bring the portal to you." What at first seemed a point of light appeared. As it drew closer, they saw that it was a vertical glowing hoop some six feet in diameter, floating half in and half out of the water.
