Fred At Last Meets the Dragon

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 66391

Fred recalled his quest, which recent events had caused him almost to forget. Now he might actually get the opportunity to slay the Dragon. He would have Astra's sword, coupled with the advantage of surprise. It was true that he was unlikely to live long thereafter, for the Dragon's minions would surely kill him, but it would be a price worth paying. His only real regret was that, if that was Carola tied to the stake, she would almost certainly perish without him to free her. (There was a chance, of course, that he might be transferred to yet another body and so escape death, but he couldn't rely on that.)

So, though he naturally felt nervous, he followed the guard. Within ten minutes he entered a huge cavern. At its centre lay the Dragon.

  1. "Hello, Astra," it said.
  2. "Hello, Fred," it said. Oops! Did it have the same ability as Astra to see who was inhabiting a body?
