Astra recalled her people's legends of the Diiven, including one about how
their favoured form of polite greeting was a strange, left-ward leaning
bow. She tried it. The Diiven appeared pleased and responded in kind.
"Hello," Astra said. "I'm pleased to meet you. My name is Astra, and these are Fred and Velus. I must confess that I'd always been led to believe that Diiven were mythical." "We like humans to think that. It's less trouble that way. I'd be grateful if the three of you didn't tell anyone that you'd seen me. My name is..." She then said something that no human could ever pronounce or hope to spell in any known alphabet. Seeing their looks of consternation, she added: "But you can call me Greeny. That's my nickname, because of my hair."
