Stacy looked up from the book. The woman standing beside her was totally
unfamiliar -- not surprising, of course, but dismaying anyway. She pushed
that disappointment to the side and tried to concentrate on the positive.
Not only did this person recognize Stacy, but her words implied that Stacy
had been here before. This woman might just prove the key to unlocking the
mysteries of Stacy's identity, her memory, loss, and why she had been drawn
here. Or so she might hope... Stacy realized that she'd been staring dumbly at the woman, who seemed to be waiting for her to answer. She tried to think quickly. How to play this? Confess to her memory loss and ask for help? Probably the simplest thing to do, but somehow Stacy felt reluctant at the though of revealing her vulnerability...
