The Never Ending Quest - Episode 63003

The Doctor

"You and I need to talk," Elrondir snaps at the one we, for the moment, have identified as the G-man. This of course causes the man (who I sense is definitely more than he appears), to draw his surprised gaze from the sight of two young girls and a pair of Oriental dragons chattering away in a scene worthy of one of Rockefeller's more heartwarming paintings (if said artist should somehow have gotten interested in mixed fantasy/science fiction settings instead of "old fashioned" slices of Americana).

Having become somewhat inured to such odd sights since my time on Terra Prime, I must admit I still have a smattering of sympathy for the obviously befuddled man in the suit. Not MUCH, mind you, since I believe he'd somehow behind that failed kidnapping attempt of the native Rei (some of the equipment and Method of Operation the still unconscious would be kidnappers used matches what Elrondir told us of).

Speaking of Elrondir, while it is a good thing that he'd managed to deflect the ire of both Mina and Alan away from doing something . . . I do hope he remembers that we are a team.

We had agreed that when we got to this point (though I must say we'd expected to have been speaking with Commander Akari first vice the G-man), we had agreed that . . .

"We have much to speak of," Elrondir corrects himself, glancing at me as I walk up.

Good. I and Elrondir will handle this encounter and see if we can perhaps make him see reason (Elrondir said he had a few ideas on how to accomplish this). As long as the dragons are still in their natural form, the dragon fear that they naturally exude shall make the locals (like say Section 2) . . . reluctant to interrupt us.

But let us not be too slow, else someone out there get it into their heads that something like an artillery barrage (or some stronger long distance attack) could be the perfect means of handling the dragons, and never mind the consequences of those who piloted Unit 00.

The others who are not talking with Rei and her young analog (why do I have a feeling that I've just gained another Companion without having even asked for one?) will be attempting to contact those within NERV(and perhaps the JSSDF for good measure) to avoid any . . . misunderstanding.

Chiana

"So tell me again just why we are trying to talk with these guidos instead of unleashing what we have on 'em?" I ask, still more than a bit perplexed what we're trying to do exactly here.

Inquirer looks up from her computer deck and frowns.

  1. "Chiana, we do this wrong and we might as well just cal it a day," my friend explains softly. "Remember the reason . . . that one event that got Rei REALLY interested in Babylon 5?"
