He awoke to a scream of agony, falling off the sit to the ground in a
startling jump. He quickly got to his feet and looked around to get a grasp
on were he was. His eyes feel upon the creature that made that terrible
sound, and cried so desperately out. A dragon chained to the ground, its
scales darkening with each pulse of electric energy that surged into him
though those chains. The creature rose it's head and let out a breath of
fire into the cool air, then extinguished it's last breath and feel to the
ground motionless.
Fred watched all this with a little sorrow, although he knew the dragon deserved it. He now knew where he was and remembered the world that was around him. He turned and started heading back to his station. Fred worked at a biological study site of dragons; it was one of the last few to exist. They had a lest 100 dragons there that the studied. Once every 3 months they would kill a dragon, as he just witnessed. There study was crucial, and anything they could learn would help them better face there foe. The world was ruled by dragons now, and were feared everywhere. Most biological centers like this one had been destroyed by the dragons that were prisoners or by ones from the outside. Most centers killed all there dragons once the world had started to fall. This center was well hidden though, so they kept them alive and beefed up the security on there cells so they couldn’t escape, as the fact was you can learn more from the living then the dead. The year was 2006, most of the cities had fallen, and people gathered together and built centers where people could live in peace and security could be enforced with more people and more weapons. The president had been killed during the beginning when the dragons first rose up around the world. People hadn’t even known they were they when they just came out of nowhere. That had been in 2002. Dick Chaney now was the president and lived in a center somewhere in Washington, which had the most military force to find off attacks. The biological center where Fred worked was in Iowa, speaking that nothing was there, they hoped for no attacks. Fred walked to his station and then realized it was his turn to watch the young dragons they raised in hope of turning them on the human side, but it rarely worked, speaking that dragons were savage creatures. He gripped his pistol and checked to make sure it was filled with armor-piercing rounds; just in case a young dragon got out of control he would be able to put it down with a shot through its head. Fred walked down the long bland hallway to the room where the young ones lived. There was no one in the hallway, which was usual as everyone was either working or resting in their corridors. There wasn’t much social active, there worked hardened there hearts. If any of there co-workers got a dragons blood on them they would in time become a half-dragon, for as the dragons blood has a special acid in it that when it goes on humans it will combine with the molecular structure, and brain, of the human body and turn them into a force to be reckoned with. Fred had killed 2 of his comrades for this reason before As Fred continued down the hallway it was then that he heard a chilling voice behind him. "Fred." Fred wiped around drawing his pistol at the same time, and found him self looking at a half-dragons face, but of someone that never worked here before. His pistol was aimed perfectly at the head. "Fred, you must led the land into light, you must save us all."
