Astra's New Dress

"Payment?" Kwan scoffed. "It is I who is repaying you for listening to an old man reminisce about the past. Now I must think....Ah!" Making curious gestures in the air, Kwan chanted some vaguely mystical-sounding words before clapping his hands together with a loud smack that made both of them jump. He gave another of his face-devouring grins. "A dress fit for a princess, don't you think?"

Astra appeared to be wearing a royal purple ankle-length garment that was held up by a purple butterfly-shaped clasp on her right shoulder. Her left was bare. It empathised her generous bosom without displaying an indecent amount.

"A dress like that denotes a woman of great standing." Kwan told them.

"How long will it last?" Astra asked.

"For ever," Kwan said, proudly. Before he could say more, Velus reappeared, looking really whipped. This time the cat was chasing him! He darted behind Fred and peered fearfully around Fred's legs at the cat. The cat sat and glared at him, tail swishing angrily, before losing interest and starting to wash itself.

1. A cat chasing a dog? An extremely bemused Fred had to ask Kwan about it.
2. After thanking Kwan again, they made to leave, but Velus wouldn't budge.
