"But how?" Fred(a) asked. "And where could they have gone?"

"This is intolerable!" Vincent exclaimed, sounding more annoyed than worried. "Apparently my enforced absence has weakened the magical defenses around this tower to the point that..."

"Curse you, mage!" Helia fairly shouted. "Cease your dithering and LOCATE MY DAUGHTER!!!"

Vincent look startled for a moment, then bowed his head. "I'm sorry, Queen Helia - this is much harder for you than for me, I know. I'll get right on it."

It took Vincent a few minutes to prepare and cast a locator spell. Helia constantlt paced the chamber, alternating between looking furious and looking frantic. Astra went over to comfort her, but the Queen rebuffed her, not unkindly but quite firmly.

To her surprise, Astra found herself on the verge of tearing up a bit - she could understand why the queen refused to accept her as her daughter, but being rejected by one's own mother still hurt.

Finally, Vincent cast his locator spell. Carefully, he checked a rotating scroll for the results. What he read made him blink in surprise.

1. "According to this, the three of them are still right here in this room."
2. "Apparently, the three of them are now in the province of Jueseafrute, at a place called - Madame Sonja's?!?"
3. "This says they are in Allaria, in the court of King Embron."
4. "It, it's a message from Pronklezilch - he says he'll return them in exchange for Freda and Astra here."
5. "This is quite odd - according to this reading, Xyllis Norla and Astra never even existed!"
