Fred strode off confidently down the corridor. Astra followed, ruefully
shaking her head. "Tits" wasn't even a word that was normally part of her
vocabulary. What had possessed her to say that it was her name? When she
had been the dragon's prisoner, could he have placed her under some
enchantment without her even being aware of it? There were rumours that he
had a keen, if malicious, sense of humour.
"That looks like it could be treasure, Tits," Fred said excitedly a moment later, pointing at the large wooden box that had just come into view round a bend in the tunnel. "You mean 'treasure chest', not - oh, I see what you mean." "Don't worry about not being too quick on the uptake, Tits," Fred said consolingly. "Intelligence isn't very important for a woman, especially for one who looks like you." Astra considered kicking him again. But though she had caused him a satisfactory amount of pain last time, his leather armour had meant that her kick had bruised her toe a little, and she decided that it wasn't worth it. Instead, she put her hands on her hips, gave him a glare, and said: "Look, you're talking to an Aqualarian warrior princess, I'll have you know." Or at least, that was what she attempted to say. What she actually said was: "You're quite right, my lord. What would a pole dancer like me want with intelligence?" She put her hand over her mouth. Whatever was afflicting her seemed to be getting worse.
