Dressing the Part (Whether They Want to or Not)

"I'm afraid not," Vincent said apologetically. "It's just the way Pronklezilch's mind works. He’s rather, ah, what’s the word?"

"Perverted?” Astra offered.

"It’s not that we don’t believe you, Vincent, but I think we'd like to try anyway, if you don't mind," Fred(a) said.

Vincent shrugged. "If you wish." He casually waved his hands and two bundles of cloth appeared on the floor. At once, the girls snatched them up and examined them. They were a pair of brown dresses, not terribly elegant but comfortably designed and made to provide the duo with at least a modicum of modesty.

Immediately, Fred(a) and Astra began to remove their silk coverings. Vincent couldn't help but notice that the manner in which they disrobed was sensuous and provocative, much more like Bawdy Girls than members of Royalty. Consciously, they're back to normal, but Pronklezilch's spell is still affecting their body language.

And as he felt a flush rise to his face, he had to admit their body language was quite definitely affecting him. He glanced away towards Helia. The queen had noticed this too, and gave him a look that was somewhere between disapproval and amusement.

Finally, the two girls got the dresses on. They smiled prettily in triumph - but their smiles quickly turned to dismay as the dresses began to writhe and change. Seconds later, Astra and Fred(a) were once again clothed only in a pair of tiny diaphanous silk wisps.

In desperation, Astra snatched the silks she had discarded moments ago and tried to wrap them around her, but the moment she got it on, it simply merged with what she already wore. The net result was that she and Fred (a) were now dressed exactly as they had been.

"Well," Astra sighed, "You did warn us."

"I did," Vincent said. "But I understand that you had to see for yourself." Disappointed, the two girls curled up on a nearby couch to rest and have a little to eat.

4. A few minutes later, a crystal ball on Vincent's table began to glow, indicating that he was receiving a magical message from a fellow mage.
5. Time passed - maybe too much time, Helia suggested nervously.
