The Ship's Library

Over the next few days, Fred settled down to a routine. The weather was fair, and the ship was making good progress. He volunteered to undertake any heavy lifting that Captain Chesterfield or the First Mate might ask him to do. While the offer was appreciated, many of the tasks on the ship would require more time to train Fred than it would be worth, so Fred had a lot of free time.

The ship had a very small library, consisting of the following books or papers:

Celestial Charts as a Navigational Aid

Fred found the first four books very dry, and opened the Third Voyage to a random page. He started reading ....
